As Vice President of Cornerstone’s Human Resource Consulting division, Karyn Rhodes is a Business Partner who specializes in all areas of Human Resources, including strategic planning, employee and labor relations, recruiting, compliance, training and development, compensation and benefits, policies and procedures, organizational development and workforce planning.

Karyn brings more than 20 years of Generalist experience in Human Resource best practices to Cornerstone stemming from her work with large, international organizations to small, family owned businesses.

Mike’s earlier career was shaped by the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts and is Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association.  He has been a true innovator in the healthcare compliance industry. In 1990, he was one of the founders of MedSafe, where he introduced the physician practice industry to OSHA, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance.  He has been the CEO at Total Compliance Solutions (TCS) and is now re-launching his third healthcare compliance company, HealthCare Compliance Network.

 

He has studied the Healthcare Work Place Violence trends since earlier 2000 and has been trained in Active Shooter situations by FEMA, Homeland Security, Russell Philips & Assoc., MOAB, Mass Fire Arms Academy and Steven M. Crimando, MA, BCETS, CHS-V, Principal at Behavioral Science Applications

Active Shooting

Course Overview

This course is an overview for individuals, working in the physician setting, so that they can be better prepared for an active shooter situation. 

This course is designed so you will be able to:

  • Describe actions to take when confronted with an active shooter
  • Respond to law enforcement.
  • Recognize potential workplace violence indicators. 
  • Describe actions to take RUN, HIDE, FIGHT
  • How to manage of an active shooter incident.

This course is intended to provide guidance to build facility-specific plans and procedures for an active shooter situation.
