How to Register for the ACMPE Examinations

Before taking the exams, you must submit these eligibility requirements.

Computerized exams at locations across the nation

ACMPE is currently developing a partnership with a national organization to deliver computerized examinations at more than 100 locations.

2010 exam windows:

Fees: Registration fees for computerized exams in 2010 are $165 for the essay exam and $165 for the objective exam.

Exam Registration Process for computerized exams

  1. Submit eligibility requirements. You can provide your eligibility requirements to ACMPE at any time prior to exam registration. ACMPE verifies eligibility prior to authorizing selection of a specific exam site. You will not be able to schedule an exam date and location until your eligibility has been verified.
  2. Register and pay for the exams via the MGMA website.
  3. Once you have registered on the MGMA website, ACMPE will verify your eligibility. Within five business days, you will be sent an email confirmation from ACMPE indicating that you can register at the ACT website with the provided personal user name and password.

    Please allow 5 business days to complete this process.
  4. After receiving confirmation of your eligibility from ACMPE, you can go to the ACT website to choose the test location, date and time that fits your schedule. Directions to the selected local site, instructions about site examination procedures and other pertinent information will be provided to you by ACT.

ACMPE/ACT exam cancellation policy

Cancellation of an ACMPE exam after registration on the ACT website is subject to a $75 processing fee. ACT requires 2 business days notice to reschedule an exam. Please contact the ACMPE help desk toll-free at 877.275.6462, ext. 1869 for more information.

Paper and pencil exams at the MGMA 2010 Annual Conference

Registration fees for paper and pencil exams at Annual Conference are $100 for the essay exam and $100 for the objective exam. Registration for these exams is will be availavble via the MGMA annual conference registration form. Exams will be held October 24.
